KS4 Assessment and Reporting
Year 11 Report Guidance for Families
Year 11 reports are based on the recent mock exam series completed by your child.
Understanding the Grades
Mock Grade
This reflects the overall grade achieved in the mock exams. In some subjects this is taken from a single exam paper, while in others—such as Mathematics—it may be an average from two or three papers.
Predicted Grade
This is the teacher’s professional judgement of the grade your child is likely to achieve in their final GCSE exams at the end of Year 11. It is based on ongoing assessments, including Year 10 mock results and the most recent mock exam series.
Approaches to Learning
Reports also include detailed information about your child’s day-to-day learning behaviours, organised into three key areas:
-
Behaviour for Learning – Behaviour in lessons, punctuality, and being equipped and ready to learn each day.
-
Learning Power – Demonstrated resilience (grit), active engagement in lessons, and their response to teacher feedback.
-
Homework – The quality, consistency, and completion of home learning tasks.
This report provides a clear and thorough update on your child’s current progress and attainment as they work towards their final GCSE exams.
