Assessments and Reporting
At Holsworthy Community College, our approach to assessment and reporting is designed to provide clear, meaningful information about each student’s progress, effort, and attitude to learning across all subjects from Years 7 to 11.
Reports are based on students’ most recent assessments, showing the percentage (%) they achieved alongside the average percentage (%) for the year group. This allows students and families to understand progress in context and identify areas for further development.
In addition to academic performance, reports also include detailed feedback on students’ approach to learning, focusing on three key areas:
-
Behaviour for Learning – including behaviour in lessons, punctuality, and readiness to learn.
-
Learning Power – reflecting resilience, engagement in lessons, and response to teacher feedback.
-
Homework – assessing the quality, effort, and consistency of home learning.
Throughout the year, students take time to reflect on their progress and set personal goals during tutor sessions and assemblies. These opportunities help them to take ownership of their learning, celebrate successes, and identify next steps to reach their full potential at Holsworthy Community College.
