Attendance

At Holsworthy Community College, we believe that excellent attendance is the foundation for success. Regular attendance helps students achieve academically, develop personally, and prepare for their future.

We work in partnership with parents and carers to ensure every student makes the most of their time with us. If attendance becomes challenging, please reach out—we are here to help.

Please inform us by 8:00am if your child will be absent. You can contact the Attendance Officer, Mrs J. Cheshire

How We Support Attendance & Wellbeing

At Holsworthy Community College, we are proud of the strong pastoral support we offer to our pupils and their families. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to ensure that every student feels safe, supported, and empowered to succeed both in and out of the classroom.

Our pastoral structure includes Pupil Coaches, all of whom are committed to providing targeted support across four key areas:

Family Support, including Early Help

Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH)

Learning and Engagement

Attendance & Curriculum

Each of our four House Leaders works closely with their tutor teams to identify pupils who may benefit from additional support. They coordinate interventions and signpost pupils and families to our Pupil Coaches and Early Help team, ensuring that help is timely, appropriate, and tailored to individual needs.

Concerned About Attendance?

If you are worried about your child’s attendance:

  1.      Speak with their tutor first.
  1.      If more support is needed, contact the House Leader

We recognise that school attendance is a vital part of a pupil’s success and wellbeing. When attendance falls, it can have a significant impact—not only on learning but also on emotional health and family life. That’s why attendance is a high-priority focus, we are here to help.

Leave of Absence During Term Time

We do not routinely grant permission for leave during term time and strongly discourage applications except in special or exceptional circumstances.

Thank you for working with us to support excellent attendance and the success of all students at Holsworthy Community College
